Q-Advantage with Easy On Boarding

QAD Easy On Boarding (EOB) is for companies seeking an industry best practice solution with reduced effort and cost of ownership. The methodology is a scalable option that offers pre-defined processes, predictable costs, and reduced implementation times.

For the small customer, a working solution is pre-defined and a focused project plan applies the tools to complete the project with minimal changes to achieve the time and cost restrictions of the project.

For the larger customer, an expanded set of pre-defined processes and functionality are included, while still retaining the focus of having them defined for a specific industry. More, yet focused, time is allotted to process refinement toward the customer’s desired outcomes. The same EOB content and tools are used to facilitate data definition, data migration, solution validation and user training.

For the multi-site customer, EOB is used to define the customer’s core model solution, as well as being used in the distribution and deployment phases. Using process models and data definitions, the standard core model is easily defined; then using test scripts and work aids, the core model is proven and user training materials finalized. At deployment, the core model solution is rolled out to all sites.

At the core of the EOB content is knowledge, focused on an industry-specific solution. Consultants have pre-defined both default and optional processes that are used in the target industry. Industry-specific static data definitions are also pre-defined, along with project team and user training documents; pilot scenarios and test scripts; and user work instructions. This knowledge is used to provide the solution definition, allowing the consultant to focus their effort on areas that really make a difference and add value to the customer.

QAD Enterprise Applications, a world-class, fully integrated suite of software solutions, is designed to accommodate the needs of a new generation of software users. Customers can start small and grow as needed, adding solutions and users as it expands. Whether a company seeks to support new processes and business opportunities or to grow its business internationally with a single solution that supports multiple countries, languages, and currencies, QAD can help transform your company.

QAD Easy On Boarding Steps

QAD’s methodology is designed to enable successful delivery of a desired business solution on time and on budget. It is intended to be flexible and scalable and can be applied to projects driven by the need for small, rapid and low-cost implementations, as well as those that require larger multi-site core model deployments.

QAD Easy On-Boarding methodology consists of four phases: Planning & Control, Design & Configure, Test & Accept, Deploy & Evolve.

Planning & Control

The planning phase sets the groundwork for the implementation and by the end of the phase all controlling documents will have been finalized. This will ensure that all members of the implementation team (QAD and Customer) will know what is required, the expected timing and who has responsibility for specific tasks.

Design & Configure

QAD Services work with the Customer’s Project Team to finalize their business processes, along with process roles and responsibilities. Project Team Members are trained by QAD using specific Easy On-Boarding Training Documents and Work Instructions. The customer agrees on the test scenarios and provides data for testing. QAD Services works with project team members to load all test data and ensure the customer:

  • Understands the process flows, related attachments and how these relate to their business
  • Is comfortable with proposed testing scenarios and has provided specific data to ensure all tests meet their requirements
  • Understands the way QAD enterprise Applications work and is capable of using the software to carry out all test requirements

Test & Accept

The Test & Accept phase will test the finalized processes, using agreed on test scenarios and data, by following pre-defined test scripts. This phase is the project team’s opportunity to prove to themselves, the stakeholders and the steering committee that QAD can meet their requirements, using industry best practice at all times.

The number of tests required will depend on the size and type of implementation.

Deploy & Evolve

This phase is split into two clear sections:

Deploy: completing the final stages of the implementation that lead to a successful go live. Key stages here include training end users from pre-defined EOB training materials, and ensuring a successful migration and cut-over of all production data.

Evolve: providing post go live support, reviewing success of the implementation and looking forward to ascertain future requirements.
